Hey folks Kelowna Chrysler here, we just wanted to give you some information on the pros and cons of buying and owning a diesel vehicle!

 

Pros :

1. Better Fuel Economy

With a diesel vehicle you will have to make fewer trips to the gas pump! Diesel vehicles get about 30% more miles per gallon when compared to their gas counterparts.

2. Slower Depreciation

Diesel vehicle depreciate more slowly over time compared to gas cars. This typically happens because Diesel engines tend to last longer with less maintenance required and often have higher resale values then gas cars.

Cons : 

1.  Diesel fuel can be more expensive

While Fuel prices across Canada can vary, on average diesel fuel sits at about 20% more expensive then gasoline. So expect more to fill up at the pump.

2. Not all stations sell diesel fuel

For those that like to travel sometimes finding diesel will prove to be a challenge. While a majority of stations sell diesel if you are in a unfamiliar area it may be difficult to find one.
